DAY 1
· Welcome to Douro
· Welcome dinner at the Aquapura Hotel.
DAY 2
· Visit 3 wine producer properties, including wine tasting, visit to the vineyards and wine cellar and lunch in one them
· Vistit Quinta Do Vallado
In the heart of the Douro, a few kilometers from the historical Régua village centre, Quinta do Vallado extends on both sides of the Corgo River, right where it meets the Douro river. With references dating back to 1716, the Property belonged to the legendary Dona Antonia Adelaide Ferreira, and remained in the family until today, going now in its sixth generation. With 38 hectares of vineyards aged between 6 and 10 years, offset, João Ferreira Alvares Ribeiro, Francisco Ferreira and Francisco Olazabal have already achieved a high level of quality recognized by several different international forums.
· Visit And Wine Tasting At Quinta Do Vallado. As the group is already at the property, we suggest a tour to the vineyards and wine cellar after lunch. Afterwards we can have a special wine tasting, accompanied by Portuguese sausage and regional cheese!
· Quinta da Pacheca is part of a property with 36 hectares, located on the south bank of the Douro River, near Régua. In contrast with the very inclined slopes that mark the region, the Pacheca is almost totally flat. From the first selection of the grapes carried out by the catchers to the crushing process by foot treading; fermentation and ageing, guests may learn and follow all the process at Quinta da Pacheca.
· We suggest the lunch to be at The Quinta da Pacheca wine cellar.
· Quinta do Seixo is equipped with a wine centre that receives and vinifies the estate’s own grapes, as well as those from Quinta da Boavista, Quinta do Porto, Quinta do Caêdo and Quinta do Vau, i.e., all the grapes from the SOGRAPE estates in the Cima Corgo sub-region, along with those from local growers with whom the Group has supply contracts. Grapes for port and Douro wines are vinified at this wine centre.
· There is also a visitors’ centre with wine tasting.
DAY 3
· Discovering the Douro wonders. Spend the morning discovering the deep Douro! There are magnificent landscapes, interesting monuments and museums and also typical Douro cuisine to taste!
· 09.30h – Transfer from the hotel to Lamego district
· 10.00h – Visit the Lamego Museum, located on the historical centre. This museum has works dating back from the famous Portuguese artist “Grão Vasco” ( XVI century).
· 10.30h – Visit Lamego cathedral, which was built in 1129. It is a Gothic cathedral, keeps the original tower, but the remaining architecture reflects the changes made in the XVI and XVIII centuries, including a Renaissance cloister with a dozen arches!
· 11.00h – Visit the Castle of Lamego. Lamego's illustrious past is also portrayed by the 11th century castle, which has a tower with view over the town.
